There is a pond that I frequently visit hoping to find birds. I noticed last fall that there appeared to be a beaver in the area. Today I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of it. I do not get to see beavers very often, so it was neat to see him/her.
It has been pretty slow around here this winter as far as birds and wildlife go. It will be nice when spring arrives.
We spent a day on Antelope Island looking for birds and other wildlife. Antelope Island is the largest Island on the Great Salt Lake. The lake attracts millions of migrating birds each year. The island is also home to a herd of bison, pronghorn, mule deer, big horn sheep, coyotes, and bobcats. We managed to find a few bison and a small herd of pronghorn. It is a beautiful area, and I am looking forward to going back.
The wet and dreary weather combined with short daylight hours has made it difficult to get out lately.
I happened upon Nicky and her cubs near the Mendenhall glacier again. They were very close to the trail, and once again seemed completely unfazed by the small crowd that had gathered to watch them.
