You can always count on seagulls, eagles, and harbor seals. Not all of these photos are perfectly in focus, but they are interesting nonetheless. Flying, catching fish, and stealing fish. I watched a flock of crows feeding on the beach at False Outer Point. They would pick up mussels with their beaks and then fly up into the air. They would then release the mussel and let it fall to the ground while diving after it. I wondered if dropping the mussel to the ground somehow breaks or opens up the shell allowing them easier access to the mussel. The wind is still blowing here. I am anxious for it to warm up, and I am excited to start seeing more wildlife. |
