Observed four humpbacks throughout the course of the day.  The first sighting was from our deck.  I glanced outside and saw the obvious hump slipping under the water very near shore.  I continued to watch, but I never saw it surface again.  No pics.

Late in the afternoon from the bike path I could see a whale spouting near the southern tip of Pennock Island.  It appeared to be heading in my direction (south), so I waited.  It eventually swam right in front of me.  It continued moving south towards Mountain Point.  I was able to get a couple of pics.    

Early in the evening I saw two whales from our deck very close to shore.  They were swimming north towards town.  I had a perfect opportunity to get a good photo of the two of them surfacing right next to each other, but my camera became very confused by the power lines.  The only photo I was able to get is of one of the whales.  Its dorsal fin looks very similar to one of the whales I saw yesterday.
